What do you really want?

Weddings.  We are sure what we want, right? The answer is yes.  Go with your gut.  Often, I meet with a bride and groom, and they say "I know I want x, but I could do this too" and then we get into an endless cycle of what if, and how about.  Your wedding is, well your wedding.  The ceremony (i.e. the important part) will be great as long as you and your spouse is there.  The reception, is well, a party.  Yes, it's important, and you have a vision.  However, you will probably have other parties.  So plan what you want, whatever that is.

Is a cute little traditional church ceremony your thing? Do it!

Have you always dreamed of the sun setting over the ocean while you share your first kiss?
Don't forget that image.

City hall weddings are fine, just don't forget to do some special things for your special day

You know what you want.  So set all your other choices up around that.  Don't get stuck in the what ifs: what if there is a better location? what if there is a better option? what if, what if, what if.  Choose your time of year, your day and your location.  You already know what is a non negotiable for the two of you.  So relax, make memories, surround yourselves with loved ones.   As always, the party is fun, but the happily ever after should always be the focal point.

Why do I need a wedding coordinator?

There are a lot of perfectly capable women planning their weddings.  They  have a vision, they plan, they craft.... and then they get to their special day.  Your wedding day is why you need a wedding coordinator.

1.  The day of the wedding, you should just spend time, being a bride.  And your wedding party should spend time with you, as well as your family.  A wedding coordinator, even hired for just the day of the wedding will allow you to do that!

2.  Even if you have purchased items, and have a vision, who will do set up and take down? Who makes sure all the vendors are paid, and who problem solves when your cake is not delivered yet? The wedding coordinator, that's who.  Your coordinator makes sure your vision becomes a reality

A wedding coordinator makes sure this....

.......... Ends up looking like this!

3.  A wedding coordinator can help you figure out what your vision actually is.  They will sit and listen, and come up with a plan tailored to you.

4.  Venues will have someone to make sure that you have space or supplies, but they will not organize or decorate.  A wedding planner can be a wedding designer as well. They will pull the look together.

5.  They are your biggest advocate.  I have personally navigated some sticky family dynamics for photos sake.  You and your groom should just be happy... It is your day after all.

You can have a variety of wedding help.  1 year out, 6 months out, day of.  It all works.  Enjoy your special day!!

Wedding Bells for Paige and Matt

January 21, 2017

I had a chance to see my niece Paige marry the love of her life Matt.  Paige and Matt are Disney fanatics.  Weekend trips up, vacations, whenever.  They are annual pass holders so they take any opportunity to travel up to Disney and have some fun with the mouse.  It wasn't a surprise when she chose a beauty and the beast theme for her reception.  Luckily she has a ton of talented people in her court to help out!  My sister did a lot of purchasing, organizing and choosing.  Paige had a dark blue and white color scheme with a pop of red roses.  It really turned out quite nice!! I have posted some photos below to show you some of the finished products.

Tall vases were a focal point with a single red rose.  Staples printed the table cards and each vase was surrounded by simple ferns and baby's breath on top of a mirror that let light sparkle through.

A single red rose with gold glitter spray adorned the newlywed table

An aunti's (or planner's) work is never done.  Here I am setting up the sand for the ceremony.  You can see we just added simple tulle and white rose pomander balls outside in the colors.  They didn't have anything to decorate the tulle for the arch, so I took some left over ferns, roses and baby's breath and created a swag....
A close up of the swag, and my son Ian :)

The happy couple, congrats Mr. and Mrs. GOAD!!

This was a wonderful ceremony, and so fun to celebrate! We had so much fun, and I was honored to put some of my wedding skills to work.    You can do a lot to pull a wedding together <3
